Nicole Zadykowicz/ Student Story
Nicole Zadykowicz is a senior graduating this December with her Bachelor’s in Psychology and minoring in Cognitive Studies at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Nicole was born in Chicago, Illinois and moved with her mom to Colorado for their love for the mountains. Nicole is first-generation Polish and is a fluent speaker. She visits her family back in Poland every year and has the opportunity to travel to various countries while overseas and has now seen more than half of Europe. In addition to her love of traveling, Nicole’s passions include photography, dancing, cooking, being adventurous and spontaneous and trying new things.
Nicole currently is working on combatting the Opioid crisis and how advocacy can improve public health in El Paso with Community Health Partnership. Nicole joined the Quad to expand and create new connections and to broaden her knowledge within various projects. Since Nicole is going into the healthcare profession, the Opioid Epidemic is an issue that greatly stood out to her and was a challenge that she was willing to tackle. She wanted to be a part of the change that our community needs and to make an impact. The Quad is not only an asset to that but holds significant importance to the community through the development of students who professionally go on to become leaders in their community. Furthermore, the Quad offers community organizations with consultation meanwhile, evolving student’s consultation and leadership skills. After the Quad, Nicole hopes to attend the PsyD Clinical Psychology program at Denver University in obtaining her PsyD and thereafter after graduation, opening up a private practice while working for the Air Force as a Clinical Psychologist.
