For over a century, Venetucci Farm has held a special place in the Colorado Springs community as a source of food, education, and pumpkins for area school children. In 2016, water contamination caused the suspension of regular operations on the property and threatened the Farm’s financial viability. Over the course of a calendar year, multidisciplinary student and faculty teams from the Quad collected ideas from community stakeholders about what to do with the property, compiled information from comparable operations nationwide, and analyzed the financial and operational feasibility of each option.

Outcome

A set of recommended uses was delivered that identified impactful, financially sustainable strategies to re-activate the Farm and protect it for generations to come.
