The energy market is currently undergoing unprecedented, rapid change. Technology, infrastructure and strategy considered cutting-edge less than ten years ago is increasingly providing obsolete or no longer appropriate for the realities of the third decade of the 21st century. Unexpected market realities – from natural gas availability to the possibility of carbon-emission caps or targets – are raising questions of whether fuel switching may achieve short-term progress at the expense of long-term opportunity. Most of the energy we currently use in our homes comes from electricity and natural gas. Where will our energy come from in 20 years? What about 50? Work with Colorado Springs Utilities staff to identify how trends in energy production will influence the future of energy in the Pikes Peak region. Application deadline January 30th.
